The success of Southern Living Magazine has been built on reaching a unique audience of consumers who seek information to enhance their lifestyles. Socialtyze was tasked with creating a unique, shareable and on-brand social experience for readers and potential readers of Southern Living.
We created a viral quiz app that allowed fans to find the Southern Starlet whose personality is most like their own. The App was instantly successful with over 900,000 users in one week. To create the perfect pairing, users asked such questions as: “Which Southern hashtag is more your style? What red carpet hairdo would crown your pose?”
Depending on a user’s answers, she was served up a photo of the Southern Starlet whose personality most closely matched her own. Fans were paired up with the likes of Melanie Smooter in Sweet Home Alabama, or Idgie in Fried Green Tomatoes, who “has a quick mouth with a heart of gold and follows the beat of her own drum, but when it comes to friends and family, she has their backs.
